President’s Report

The website www.newportwaters.com continues to be updated and is the window for waterways history and information on our Association. I would like to thank Marty Tullemans for the hundreds of hours he has spent to date on modernising our website.

Our email address nwpoa@newportwaters.com is monitored and questions will be answered. My thanks to our secretary Susan Martin-Baker for monitoring and managing responses.

NWPOA Christmas Functions

Santa on the Canal 0800 to 1100 25 December.

Thanks to Graeme and Colleen Cadwallader for organising both events and Marty Tullemans and the Coast Guard for providing the boats for Santa on the Canal.

There is an availability calendar on the website plus contact details. Please use as it assists managing trailer usage.

Christmas lights competition

The committee has decided to cancel our competition. There was minimal interest in 2022. Light competitions have become commercialised. There are alternative competitions with prizes.

NWAG (Newport Waterways Advisory Group)

NWAG is Newport waterways owners direct access to council.

The NWAG meeting on the 16 November 2023 is important to all Newport Waterways residents interested in the maintenance of the waterways and the spending of your canal levy. The information from this meeting is on our website and includes the agenda, support information and minutes.

The minutes are well worth a read and if there are questions please send them to our email address and we can table the questions at the next NWAG meeting.

Christmas Message

We have 243 financial members and are incredible grateful for their support but we continue to be stretched as a committee through a lack of qualified people resources.

The committee and I want to wish all members and residents a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
